Having a strong core is not just about how good your abs look. Your core includes muscles of the pelvis and trunk as well. Many people may not know that how your core muscles performance affects every other movement in your body.  To get a better idea of how important your core is, think of it as a sturdy conduit for body motion. Actions carried out by the body move upward or downward through the core, meaning a weak, inflexible core can inhibit any movement.

This has the effect of a loss of power within the body; a strong core enables more powerful movement, enhancing stability and balance.
Below are just a few of the ways in which a strong, flexible core can improve your movement:

Lower back pain affects many people at some point in their life. Weak abdominal muscles mean that there is an imbalance between the front and back of that area of the body. Exercises For The Core

First, try drawing in your abdominal muscles, hold for five breaths, and relax.
Repeat this ten times.
This may not seem a lot, but by doing this every day you will strengthen your abdominal muscles, leading to a more balanced body.

Second, attempt something a bit more challenging by trying a reverse straight leg raise.
1. Lie on your back and tense your abdominal muscles.
2. Slowly raise one leg, straight at first, and bring up towards your chest whilst keeping the other leg flat to the floor.
3. Straighten the raised leg and return it to the floor, then repeat with the other leg, all the time making sure your abs are tense.
Repeat the sequence 10-20 times for a strengthened core.
