How Many Calories Can I Burn?

Aerobics is a full body workout which means you can burn quite a few calories. Of course the number of calories you burn will depend on the intensity of your workout. Someone who is 180 pounds and does low impact aerobics can burn as much as 409 calories in an hour. That goes up to 572 calories in an hour when doing high impact aerobics.

How To Get Started

The great thing about aerobics is that it requires very little equipment if any at all. When you first get started keep it simple. Don’t try to go all out and make up for years and years of inactivity. The idea is to pick an activity you actually like. This will increase your chances of sticking with it.

One simple thing you can do to get started is walk 5 minutes from your home and then turn around and walk back. It might not seem like much but it will go a long ways because you are now moving more. After a week of doing 5 minutes you can increase the time to 10 minutes out and 10 minutes back. It doesn’t take a lot to get moving. You just have to get off the couch and move.
